Diesel engine repairs will emit carbon dioxide due to fuel combustion. Of course, battery boats will not have such concerns, but at the same time, they will not. The energy supply is insufficient. Have you ever thought about how to accurately measure the carbon dioxide emissions of ships? The International Maritime Organization (IMO) and the European Commission (EC) are planning to calculate the measurement method.


At this stage, there are mainly four options for this research. Monitoring the accepted mandatory fuel delivery documents, monitoring ship fuel tanks, engine fuel flow meters, and ship engine direct exhaust emissions are all first-hand data for the research. The ship fuel tank monitoring process is similar to the daily fuel reading operations performed by ships to control and evaluate the efficiency of the voyage. These methods have become part of the prescribed procedures for evaluating fuel consumption during the ship's voyage. But still need to wait for new data to supplement.

The principle of the third method is to use a flow meter to evaluate the amount of fuel directly flowing into the ship’s engine. However, this method also has major drawbacks, which are mainly reflected in the installation of this type of flowmeter on each ship to be tested, which increases the cost of the ship owner. At the same time, the ship owner has to calibrate the instrument with time and effort. . In addition, the maintenance and replacement costs are very high. But think about it from another angle. This solution is more accurate than the previous two measurement values, but it also cannot guarantee that all meters are accurate and not suitable for installation in a marine environment. Further corrections are needed.


The last option is to directly measure carbon dioxide emissions from ships. This solution also requires technical input, data calibration and verification, and professional information technology support to ensure accurate data collection, storage and transmission.
