The overhaul is carried out once every 4-6 years, that is, one overhaul after 2 to 3 annual repairs. The repair scope is larger than the annual repair. It is preventive and is also carried out in the docks or platoons of the ship repair yard. Overhauls are generally combined with special inspections. The surveyor will dismantle, inspect, measure and test more than 40 items of the hull and the main equipment of the entire ship. Modification repair is a modification and repair project carried out to improve the performance of the ship or change the purpose of the ship. Changes involving the basic structure and main parameters of the ship must be designed in advance and carried out after approval by the ship inspection agency.
